The Buffalo Grass Acoustic Society(BGAS) was formed by the folks in Peyton, Colorado.  People in the neighborhood just wanted to make music.  A few of us began meeting at Vicki and Kirk Fraser's home to play and sing.    Word spread like wildfire.  Soon the house was filled.  One night Roger Carter, leader of Prairie Wind, the house band at the Cowboy Church in Peyton, brought his band over.  Talk about music!  After that Roger arranged for us to meet at the Cowboy Church of Peyton so we could accommodate everyone who wanted to come.  The Buffalo Grass Acoustic Society was born.  Our first show was in November of 2002.

BGAS is a place for the community.  We want families to come get to know their neighbors while enjoying the music.  The atmosphere is so relaxed.  You will just feel right at home.  The jam session from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. is very popular.  You are welcome to come listen even if you don't play.  We break for sound checks at 6:30 and let you grab a cup of coffee and a brownie before the show starts at 7:00.  There are two open stage acts and a feature.  We bring you some of the best music around.  Bring the kids and neighbors and come on out for the next show.   You are sure to enjoy yourself.

The BGAS Coyote Den: Roger Carter, Scott Lawrence, Karen Neal, Lee Patterson, Joel Theriault, Gary Lewman and Phyllis Stark..   For further information please contact Lee at (719) 495-0733.  or email him.

A big BGAS thanks to the Black Rose Acoustic Society (BRAS) for supporting us with announcements from the open stage and in the newsletter.  BRAS founder, Charlie Hall,  has been especially helpful with encouragement and tips on how to proceed.  His experience has been invaluable.   Thanks, Charlie.  Also, thanks to Grant Grovenburg, the BRAS sound man, for his assistance in speccing a sound system for us.  Vicki and Kirk Fraser and their daughter Maggie have moved to Omaha, NE.  The Buffalo Grass Acoustic Society is a product of their commitment and vision along with that of Roger Carter and Scott Lawrence.  Thanks to all of you for getting us started and keeping us going.
